Who is Pastor Rykie Steyn?

As an orphan at the tender age of five years my life was distinguished with poverty, suffe ring with consumption, staying in orphanages selling newspaper papers in extreme conditions. At the age of thirteen I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. Although I didn't serve Him wholeheartedly He still remained mercifill. On the 2nd day of April 1961 after regretting my sinful ways I repented. One week later, on the 9th of April, I got baptised and as I came up out of the water the Lord baptised me with the Holy Spirit in the speaking of tongues. In a miraculous manner the Lord called me into the ministry on the 13th April 1961. After I successfully completed the pastral correspondence course of the Full Gospel Church of God, Pastor Herby Steyn, a Jewish pastor of our church laid his hands on me on the 10th July 1964 ordained me to the ministry. The same introduced me to Shlomo Hizak in Jerusalem and since then I've supported his ministry.

While Shlomo was doing his military training in Israel he at a stage was the body guard of David Ben Gurion - the First Prime Minister of the State of Israel.

Dr. Jan van Zyl, who later lectured Hebrew at the University of Port Elizabeth studied the Hebrew language in Israel. On the steps of the "Knesset" being the Parliament Building of Israel he testified unto Shlomo who then dedicated his life to Jesus. Shlomo later took over the position after the passing of Gordan Lindsey of the "Mount Olive Bible center." More 40,000 Bibles in forty different languages were distributed to all Jewish immigrants from all over the world. In 1974, ten years after I started supporting Shlomo I invited him to South Africa meeting him for the first time.

As a child I realized that the Jews of the Old Testament was God's chosen nation and my heart was filled with compassion for this nation after reading through of all their sufferings throughout the Bible, the torturing and deaths (Holocaust) during the second World War. My first pilgrimage to Israel was in August 1969 under the capable leadership of the past Dr. Pieter Swanepoel. I realized that this nation that God has chosen was to become the light to all nations. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew First and also for the Greek." (Romans 1: 16)

There are so many scriptures that spoke to my heart ie; " I will bless those who bless you (Israel) found in Genesis 12:3.

"Comfort, yes, comfort my people!" Says your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lord's hand Double for all her sin." ( Isaiah 40: 1-2) Sunday the 2nd of September 1979 at 06h00 the Lord woke me up with an audible voice told me twice to read Joshua 1: 6 - 9. "Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them."

Whether you've visited Israel once or more a tour through Israel remains an unique experience and rich in history. Having frequenting Israel as a tourist, a tour leader and privileged to even stay there for a while I was prompted to offer this bundle in English to reveal the light. Although you will be considered as a tourist, it is my hearts desire that you would rather see yourself as a "pilgrim" You'll have the privilege to witness how the prophecies as written in the Bible has come to pass.

As the prophet of old, I too can say; "Thus says the Lord: ' If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season, then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, MY ministers.
